Niger ranks 176/177 in the United Nations ranking of Human Development. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to improvement of the lives of some of the world’s poorest people. The Country Representative has ultimate responsibility for CAFOD’s Country Programme and works with staff and partner organisations in Niger to realise the programme strategy which focuses on nutrition, food security, and disaster risk reduction.
Job Role
The post holder holds financial and management authority for the Niger programme, ensures good stewardship of CAFOD and donor funds and represents CAFOD externally including with the church, institutional donors and key decision makers with whom CAFOD seeks to strengthen the influence of our key local partner CADEV and local communities.
Your profile
You will demonstrate the ability to manage institutional donor funded programmes in both a development and humanitarian context and have experience in one or more of the programme areas: Food Security, Livelihoods, Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, Natural Resources Management, Governance, and Gender. You should also be confident in financial and security/risk management and to represent CAFOD within NGO, donor and faith based networks. You will be committed to working in partnership. Fluent written and spoken French and English essential. Strong understanding and first-hand experience of donor trends highly desirable. Able to travel for up to twelve weeks per year.
