ACTED supported vulnerable populations in the region of Tillabery through cash and food distributions and response to malnutrition, Cash for Work (2011). In addition, from 2012, ACTED in partnership with UNHCR has played a central role in the response to the influx of Malian refugees via the installation and management of Abala (March 2012) and Mangaize camps and Tabareybarey (October 2013).
Since June 2013, ACTED is also working in the Diffa region in response to the massive influx of Nigerian refugees. ACTED has a good working relationship with United Nations agencies and other humanitarian actors and remains highly involved and active in gathering information for strategic planning in Diffa via the REACH initiative. With its field experience and operational presence in the region, ACTED has also given the management of three new Nigerian refugees camps in Diffa in February 2015. The REACH initiative in Niger is in charge of managing information and mapping of refugee camps and many other localities hosting refugees.
