The Austrian Red Cross (AutRC) is offering a job opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Team Leader for South Caucasus and Eastern Europe, who is based in Tbilisi and/or Yerevan. The Team Leader has the overall responsibility for the implementation of development programmes in the respective region, the coordination and support to relief operations, the follow-up with programming and partnerships in the fields of disaster preparedness, social entrepreneurship as well as social and health services. The assignment starts in August 2021 and is limited to 2 years, with option to extend.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Manage the respective team and ensure qualitative planning, management and monitoring of ongoing projects and programmes in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine
- Ensure and coordinate strategic partnership development in close cooperation with the Red Cross National Societies (NS) and other local partners
- Review and update the AutRC annual plans for South Caucasus und Eastern Europe in close cooperation with focal points from Red Cross NS and other stakeholders
- Provide technical and managerial support to AutRC country offices in Armenia and Georgia to assess, plan, implement, monitor and report on budgets and plans-of-action
- Ensure guidance and technical support on the operationalization of the strategic approaches of local partners including the strengthening of NS Development
- Support resource mobilization and lead on development of proposals to institutional donors like ADA and EU in close coordination with the technical team in Vienna
- In cooperation with AutRC International Crises and Disaster Management department provide effective support to ensure appropriate disaster response and to strengthen NS capacities in this area
- Ensure that operations are conducted in an effective security framework
Your profile and skills
- At least five years international humanitarian and/or development experience (NGO, IO or Charity) at senior management level, management experience in a Red Cross/Red Crescent National Society, IFRC or ICRC is an asset
- Degree or diploma in development studies, project management or other relevant discipline
- Proven people management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and lead a multicultural team in complex and demanding environments
- Excellent project and finance management skills (including budgeting and budget control)
- Very good spoken and written English, skills in German, Russian, Armenian and/or Georgian are an asset
- Strongly motivated by humanitarian and development work, and high sensitivity to diversity
Compensation depends on qualifications and experience, minimum monthly all-in salary of € 4.000,00 gross.
