The International Republican Institute (IRI) is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party for a multi-year program focused on identifying and countering disinformation and misinformation. Local Nationals and expatriates with residency status and Georgian work authorization highly encouraged to apply.
Position Requirements
· Minimum 7 years of experience managing and implementing multi-component programs.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work on a multi-partner team
· Substantial project management experience (or equivalent leadership position).
· Must have professional level English ability, both written and oral; Georgian or Russian skills preferred.
· Experience in Georgia and/or in the Europe and Eurasia region will be an advantage but is not required.
· Master’s or higher degree in Political Science, International Studies, or other relevant field.
· In-depth knowledge and understanding of countering disinformation, media and civil society development issues in Georgia
· Familiarity with the key government stakeholders, relevant private sector actors and civil society organizations working on disinformation issues, and an understanding of the dynamics and relationships among these stakeholders
· Substantial experience in implementing complex civil society, governance, and media development programs preferred
· Proven track record of working effectively with other programs, media and civil society, high-level host country host government counterparts, and other international partners
· Must possess the technical, managerial and communication skills to assume all related responsibilities of the COP position on a full-time basis if needed
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
· Subject to the oversight of the Chief of Party (COP), provide overall program leadership, management, and technical direction
· Serve as the program’s deputy liaison with project stakeholders and partners, including local and national level government, civil society partners.
· Subject to the oversight of the COP, manage and supervise the work of program personnel and subcontractors
· Subject to the oversight of the COP, ensure that all assistance is technically sound, appropriate for the regional context, and compliant with local laws and regulations
· Subject to the oversight of the COP, lead the creation and implementation of a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
· Subject to the oversight of the COP, oversee work planning, performance management, donor reporting, and strategic communications
· Other duties as assigned.
