Chemonics seeks a short-term fundraising and proposal-writing consultant to help six partner organizations improve fundraising and proposal-writing for the ongoing USAID Human and Institutional Capacity Development 2020 program. The program seeks to achieve tangible improvements in the human and institutional capacity of USAID’s strategic partner organizations in Georgia that play a strategic role in the government of Georgia’s reform agenda. Partner organizations operate in the nongovernmental sector and serve the Georgian public. They strive to establish the rule of law and advance human rights, promote democratic processes, strengthen democratic institutions, civic participation, religious freedom, tolerance, and diversity, and improve transparency of electoral processes. Their success depends on their financial sustainability from effective fundraising. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Examine partner organizations’ fundraising practices to identify what works and doesn’t by reviewing past and ongoing proposals and successful and unsuccessful cases
- Pinpoint gaps, strengths, and weaknesses in approaches
- Interview organization leaders, managers, and employees to gain perspective and collect data
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience fundraising, proposal writing, and training, with record of improving fundraising and proposal-writing capacity of organizations in the nonprofit sector
- Knowledge of donor organizations’ (USAID, EU, and UNDP) requirements
- Experience working in the region, especially in Eastern Europe and post-Soviet states desired. Experience in Georgia preferred
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in English required
