Association "Merkuri" focuses its work on women rights, gender issues, prevention of Domestic violence and support of women - victims of domestic violence. Organization works in West Georgia since 2007, from March 2018 Association "Merkuri" run shelter for women affected by Domestic violence; and Family Center for supporting families with violent/ aggressive background. Organization run project in different fields: gender issues, prevention of domestic violence, advocacy, youth programme, community development, humanitarian action, culture, environment etc.
Main Tasks:
- Elaborate and implement a communication strategy/action plan
- Manage the organisation’s public image and public relations.
- Website and social media maintenance: create website/social media content and update information, upload documents, make changes to the website when necessary
- Support in developing communication/visibility materials (Leaflets, posters,
banners, videos, pictures etc.). - Promote awareness campaigns and collection of funds, preparation of local communications and fund raising events.
- Promote project events/achievements in social media.
- Facilitate project/organisation events (closing events, conferences, etc.).
- Prepare publications, releases, information materials, newsletters, human
stories etc. - Manage and enrich the photo and video archive.
- Inputs to the reports (project interim/final report).
- Draft and publish articles describing volunteer's experience in the field.
- Gather audiovisual materials to be used in a public awareness activity in the volunteer's local community in Europe.
- Train relevant staff on utilizing communication tools in their work and projects.
- Train/follow up with staff on use brand identity.
Required Competences
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations/ Communications/ Journalism or related fields good knowledge of the English language (B2-C1)/ Russian will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of graphic design software.
- Skills of video edition.
- Have an excellent understanding about tools and techniques to increase the visibility, profile and reputation of an organisation.
- Have a good understanding of social media and the impact technology is having on communications and collaboration.
- Experience of developing and managing strong and complex relationships across programmes as part of a centralised function and externally with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of managing of websites.
- Experience of measuring the impact of communications products and changing strategies as a result of the findings.
- Proficient in the use of IT Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly with a range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience of representing an organisation at external events.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations/ Communications/Journalism or min 3 years experience in this field.
Good knowledge of the English language (B2-C1)/ Russian will be an advantage.

The EU Aid Volunteer programme covers:
- Pre-departure training with the European Commission: transport, food and
accommodation - Pre-departure training with the sending organisation: transport, food and
- Accommodation in country of deployment
- International travel at start and end of the deployment, visa, vaccinations
- Health Insurance during the duration of the project
- Accommodation
- Monthly allowance: 282.79 € will be paid to the volunteer to cover subsistence (food, any other personal items) in addition to a local transportation reimbursement (up to 40€ per month)
- In addition, after the return, 100€ of post deployment resettlement allowance for each completed month of deployment

Important notice:
- 3 best candidates will undergo an online and a 2-week onsite professional EU Aid volunteers training – May 2020 (Netherlands / Austria)
- selected candidate will complete a 5-days preparatory training at ADRA Slovakia – June 2020 (Slovakia)
- additional candidates may be shortlisted for a single position and proposed for the EU Aid Volunteers training. This is to ensure that for each position, substitute volunteers may be chosen to replace the candidate in case he or she resigns or is no longer available. Where more than one candidate has been shortlisted for a single position, final selection takes places after the training.
