Background
Children with special needs are strongly dependent on individual support from their families, as government support is relatively low. Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) is making efforts to update the methods and technologies in order to raise the standard up of available health care for children with special needs in Georgia. The mission of EDEC is to make possible the personalisation of the methods or the approach to the treatment of children with special needs.
EDEC is a country-wide nonprofit organisation dedicated to international development cooperation, specifically with professionals and volunteers, based in Kutaisi, Georgia. EDEC is very close to the action, working in communities, schools and daycare centers in different regions of Georgia.
Currently EDEC is searching for a professional who will facilitate communication between EDEC and the scientific community.
Job Scope
As an employee of EDEC your role would be to assist in the development of a network between daycare centers throughout Georgia and establishing communication between EDEC’s daycare centers and the scientific community in Germany.
You would be responsible for the following:
- Analysis of four daycare centers of EDEC throughout Georgia
- Establishment of an international network for the transfer of knowledge
- Introduction and modification of current and suitable methods, tools and curricula
- Assistance in the development of individual treatments
- Expansion of available treatments and services for families with children with special needs
Qualification Profile
- A relevant university degree in pedagogy or psychology, minimum bachelor
- Professional experience in the diagnosis and development of children with special needs
- Competency in English (both written and spoken)
- Openness and motivation to integrate into the culture of Georgia
- Capacity to travel for business
Citizenship of a Member State of the European Union or of Switzerland is required.
