Introduction
UNICEF is engaged in Abkhazia working in the fields of health, education and child protection, with a special focus on mother and child healthcare and wellbeing. In recent years UNICEF was also supporting local partners in establishing and developing IT databases in mother and child health, primary healthcare, disability, vaccines and pediatric drugs distribution, etc. for generating reliable data in the areas of joint work for evidence-based programming and monitoring. UNICEF has also been developing a social work programme and plans to establish electronic databases to support case management as well as proving technical IT support to the social workers and their facilities in all districts of Abkhazia. In education, UNICEF has been supporting the use of technology in classrooms through the introduction of computer-based visualization software and by supporting teacher resource centers with IT equipment and support.
To continue strengthening this component of these programmes and to support UNICEF's IT infrastructure in Sukhumi, UNICEF's Sukhumi Field Office seeks to obtain services with the local IT provider in Sukhumi, Abkhazia/Georgia.
Scope of work
Under the direct supervision of the Project Officer (Health) and Chief of Field Office and in close cooperation with the Tbilisi-based IT Officer, UNICEF Team in Sukhumi, the Sukhumi-based IT service provider will provide IT support to UNICEF programmes in Abkhazia, continue technical and capacity development of the local actors related to the regular upgrade and maintenance of immunization, pregnant women, disability and other databases.
Contract period
Duration of the contract is 11,5 months starting from September 2019.

Performance indicators
Performance will be evaluated against the following criteria: timeliness, responsibility, initiative, communication, and quality of duties and responsibilities fulfilled.
Unsatisfactory performance
In case of unsatisfactory performance the contract will be terminated by notification letter sent 15 days prior to the termination date. In the meantime, UNICEF will initiate another selection in order to identify appropriate candidates.
Payment Terms and Rates
Monthly remuneration of a consultant will be negotiated between a selected candidate and UNICEF , based on an initial proposal of a candidate. Applicants are therefore requested to submit a monthly gross remuneration proposal.
UNICEF reserves the right to withhold all or a portion of payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if work/outputsisincomplete, not delivered or failed to meet deadlines.
