This new Lake Chad Programme Strategy, outlining Plan International’s bold ambition to transform the life of girls and their families in the Lake Chad Region. In addition, provide technical advice to our Country Offices in Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and the whole Lake Chad programme in ensuring Gender is incorporated in a meaningful way in to the design, implementation and monitoring of all our projects.

  • Provide gender expertise within the LC Programme for strategical analysis, gender assessments, capacity building, proposal development as well as gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation.

  • Contribute to shape the programme vision for the Lake Chad Programme focusing on girls’ rights and gender equality in line with 100 Million reasons

  • Use the results of the Research on “Adolescent Girls in the Lake Chad Crisis” to develop programmatic guidance and to strengthen our influencing work around adolescent girls

  • Provide learning for the organisation on who to operate on the humanitarian-development nexus, achieving our purpose of advancing children’s rights and equality for girls

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
