We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Partnership Lead for an anticipated USAID-funded education activity.
Project Description:**
The purpose of this anticipated five-year project is to: 1) expand the innovative learning instruction methods in reading, math, and business (21st century) skills into the national curriculum in all 2400 of Georgia’s primary schools for grades 1-6, including schools in marginalized communities; 2) Strengthen teacher development curricula and teacher induction activities in universities across the country that will result in a highly-qualified cadre of teachers. This project will take place in the Republic of Georgia with an anticipated duration of five years.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategy for project partners (universities, local NGOs, government bodies, education centers, and others).
- Establish new relationships and extend existing relationships to support scale-up of the project.
- In collaboration with Deputy Chief of Party, serve as a strategic advisor for the project by communicating expectations, helping set goals and project timelines, and ensuring long-term relationship management for overall project stability and success.
- Be the first point of contact for partners around all key areas (operations, financial, training, etc.) and drive new opportunities.
- Support integration of new activities/trainings with existing partners, and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of daily project-related issues.
- Coordinate relationship and partnership with Government of Georgia (GoG), its affiliated bodies, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and selected Georgian universities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or a closely related field form an accredited university required; Ph.D. or Ed.D. (or foreign equivalent) in relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years working on development activities with donors, government bodies, education institutions, and/or private sector foundations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, consultants, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of programs required.
- Ability to perform at a high level and apply diplomacy skills with a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., students, teachers, educators, school directors, pedagogical instructors, methodologists, education department leaders, GoG members and its affiliates, community members, business partners, and donors).
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance required.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communications skills required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Georgian required.
- Fluency in English required; additional Russian language proficiency preferred.
