Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Niger. NCA has been delivering humanitarian assistance in Niger since October 2017 to the affected population within WASH and GBV.
As Finance Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to oversee and further develop the financial team, provide sound leadership, as well as build internal capacity of staff and local partners. You will be reporting to NCA Niger’s Head of Mission (HoM) and have overall responsibility for all financial management matters relating to the Niger program. You have excellent communication skills and can communicate with colleagues at all levels, from senior leadership to national staff employees. You are flexible and able to easily adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging environment.

This is a three-month contract with a start date of February 1, 2019, with possibility for extension. Please note that Niger is classified as a high-risk area and is a non-family duty station.
Duties and responsibilities
Overall responsibility for financial processes.
Ensure proper financial monitoring systems are in place such that financial processes comply with NCA’s routines, guidelines, and donor regulations.
Work closely, mentor and build capacity of our staff within finance, accounting and administration.
Capacity building of partners in NCA’s Finance procedures
Qualifications
Relevant education in Finance, Management or Accounting
Five years’ practical field experience from finance and accounting along with experience as a manager or supervisor.
Experience working with donor and NGO regulations, processes and systems. Of particular interest are UN, ECHO and/or MFA
Demonstrated experience in capacity development and skills-transfer to local organizations and on-the-job training for staff
Experience from working in challenging, high risk environments.
Excellent communication and writing skills in French and English
The person employed must have completed an extended security training within the last four years. Online training will not be considered valid

Ability to remain positive and professional in stressful working conditions
Systematic, structured and accurate
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills; provides others with a clear direction; motivates and empowers others.
Must have a strong risk and security awareness and background.
