Here’s where you come in:
As Senior Gender Advisor, Niger, you will lead gender integration throughout the entire award period as FFP considers attention to gender integration key to realizing intended outcomes. You should have an in-depth understanding of gender, age, and other socio-cultural factors in the context of food security programming; a demonstrated capacity to lead the collection, analysis, and utilization of information from a broad range of sources.
You will also provide technical guidance and supervision of sub-grantees and/or sub-contractors on gender specific issues.
Requirements include:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic area is required.
- At least five (5) years of field experience at the community level is required.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead the collection, analysis, and utilization of information from a broad range of sources.
- Proven technical expertise in addressing harmful gender norms, preventing and responding to gender-based violence, reducing vulnerability of adolescent girls and young women, and constructive engagement of men and boys, as applied to very poor and highly vulnerable settings.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program gender requirements, preferably USAID Office or Food for Peace (FFP) policies.
- Fluency in French. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
